What is this world coming to ?

A man is assaulted, albeit with an egg. He retaliated with a couple of slaps.

The Australian Prime Minister says the assault victim should be charged !!!

The victim, Australian Senator Fraser Anning, may be anti Muslim but he was assaulted and in my book was perfectly justified in his reaction.

There should be no support for his assailant.

Compare the reactions here in Oz to those seen when British MP John Prescott was egged. Prescott actually punched the assailant. His boss, Tony Blair, is reported to have said “John is John when asked to comment.

Time to get real and focus on real issues methinks.

BBC News: IS brides: Two more mothers ‘stripped of UK citizenship’

BBC News – IS brides: Two more mothers ‘stripped of UK citizenship’
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-47512659

Shadow home secretary Diane Abbott said the child had died as a result of the “callous and inhumane” decision to strip Ms Begum of her citizenship while Tory MP and former justice minister Phillip Lee urged the government to “reflect” on its “moral responsibility” for the tragedy.

No Diane Abbott, the decision to strip Ms Begum of her citizenship is not “callous and inhumane”.

What is “callous and inhumane” is the support that women, like Ms Begum, give to terrorists.

The death of Ms Begum’s child is entirely down to her own personal life choices. The British Government does not need to “reflect” on its “moral responsibility” since these terrorist supporters have shown no moral responsibility.

I am fed up with the constant carping on about how the UK is mistreating or being unfair to wrong doers in general and terrorists and terrorist supporters in general.

As far as I am concerned these people stepped outside the law and, at that time, they relinquished all human rights, in the same way that they denied their innocent victims their human rights.

I have no sympathy for these women and they should not be allowed back into the UK.

Is Anyone Else Bored With This ?

Two days now with the media milking Prince Phillips motor accident for all it’s worth.

It seems there is no other news in the world.

No London stabbings

No Trumpisms, statements upsetting the right thinking people of this planet.

Even Brexit has been bumped down the priority list.

Please, everyone, let’s get a sense of perspective.

Let’s not forget that he is fine, he didn’t die, nobody died.

The Waterlooville Wally(s) Of The Week Award – Lidl

‘VICTIMS OF STUPIDITY’

Lidl staff call police after middle-aged couple try to buy £12 rhubarb gin with daughters aged 11 and 14

I haven’t had cause to issue one of these for some time but this article really takes the biscuit. This ranks up with the story of the couple refused entry to their local cinema because their babe-in-arms was to young for the movie certification. It beggars belief.

So, to the Staff and Management of Lidl, Jointly I award you, “The Waterlooville Wally Of The Week Award”

Hot Rod & Custom Car Show 2017

Just spent an enjoyable couple of hours at the Hot Rod & Custom Car Show, held at Stansted House in Hampshire.

The weather did rather let us down but the cars managed to shine through even if the sun didn’t.

I’ll let the cars do the talking, take a look at the following photos. See what you think.

And There You Have It

Over the last few weeks the UK has been snowed with sound bites, lectures, debates etc. etc. etc. Yes we were in the run up to a General Election.

Today we have awoken to a new political era. Where once we had a majority government we now have a hung parliament. Theresa May, still the PM, but in a much weaker position, visiting the Queen with a view to forming a minority/coalition government with the DUP (Democratic Unionist Party) of Norther Ireland.

Theresa May called this election, unnecessarily in my book. But having called the snap election she failed to perform, failed to consolidate her party’s position, failed to show herself as the strong and stable leader that this country needs.

A new Maggie Thatcher she isn’t.

But I don’t believe that the Tory strategy is totally to blame for where we now find ourselves. Certainly certain elements of the Tory manifesto became the sole focus of both the media and May’s opponents. She did not seem able to  defend herself when put under pressure over the Tories history with, and future plans for the NHS, Social Care etc.

But then, neither did Corbyn, on occasion. His performance on BBC’s Womans Hour was awful. Diane Abbott also did not exactly shine. Not what you would expect from senior, experience, campaigners. Admittedly, Abbott’s performance is now being written off as due to health issues. But, credit where credit is due, Jeremy Corbyn and the Labour Party out played the Tories.

Over and above the individual party performances I believe we have, in part, ended up with a hung parliament due to the frantic and, sometimes, seemingly hysterical entreaties of the anti Tory activists. I personally have been inundated with “vote anybody but tory” messages via emails and social media. I think that message may have seriously affected how some folks have voted and the perpetrators should shoulder some of the blame.

I’m pretty sure that there has always  been, throughout history, tactical voting but this time round it seems to have been more ferocious. To my mind though, there can be nothing so unproductive, as randomly voting for any party, as long as it isn’t tory. For those that followed that mantra it is tantamount to either not voting or damaging your voting slip.

And there you have it, a hung parliament. To all you activists out there …. I hope you are truly satisfied.

FAT 49 – Lookin & Soundin Good

Can’t believe that these guys went to step back away from their own vehicle just because I was taking this photo.

Apparently she doesn’t like the car and makes him park it well away from her place of work.

What’s not to like ? Just wish I’d asked him what it was. Anyone out there has any idea, please let me know.
