Summer holiday this year has been 17 days in Menorca, based in Son Bou. So I thought I’d share a few snaps taken during that time.

This gateway is located on the hillside way up behind the villa where we were staying in Son Bou. The gateway was guarding a pathway leading to this gorge….

A visit to Mahon (or Mao) led us to some twisty streets…

Not all roads lead to Rome. Some lead to Mahon Harbour and beautiful views such as this

Another Menorcan Gate….

Everywhere we travelled there were beautiful displays of flowers both of the wild and cultivated varieties. Here are a few snaps from around the island.

Some views of Es Migjorn Gran …..

that’s not a cactus but a prickly pear
What’s the difference ?
Who cares I wouldn’t try to eat either!
ok……….it’s a prickly pear cactus……….the fruit makes a delicious liquer. Tastes like Christmas cake.
Had some many years ago on Symi. Have never got around to trying the fruit……….perhaps in September??
