Selfish Idiots

I am so done with these fucking idiots. I do despair at the selfishness that they display..

If they want to put themselves at risk that’s their business.

But, by their actions, they risk infecting everyone around them. OK, they are surrounded by like minded individuals, so who cares if they infecting each other?

But the truth is, it doesn’t end there. By arranging these mass gatherings they put the emergency services at risk.

Such as the police, who could be doing something more productive with their time, have to monitor / control the marchers.

And, because there is always a rogue element who see a peaceful protest as an opportunity for mayhem, the medics also end up wasting their time on these idiots before transporting them to our already overloaded hospitals.

Selfish. It’s the only way to describe their actions.

Don’t Blame Boris


I nicked this from a post on Facebook, from a group I belong too. It sums up my thoughts, completely. What say you ? ….

Don’t blame Boris and his men for locking us away,
Think instead of the all night raves, that happened every day,
Think back to all those marches, when black lives mattered most,
And the crowded summer beaches, all along the coast.

Think back to newsreel funerals where a hundred more have come,
And street gatherings of the selfish, as stupid stood next to dumb,
Some say rules are made to be broken, but their actions have a cost,
And for every thoughtless action, someone’s life just might be lost.

So don’t look to those in authority, when blame you seek to lay,
We’re locked up because the selfish, have ignored rules every day,
So in this coming month or so, don’t rant or rave or shout,
Just do as you’re bloomin’ told, and burn this virus out!

Shameful


People are blaming the UK Government for not controlling the spread of Covid. This video indicates otherwise, shows who are responsible.

I find this whole spectacle sickening. What the hell are they thinking. Well quite obviously, they are not thinking. Alcohol fuelled stupidity.

And then they all go home to mix with friends and family

If you couldn’t see a reason for closing pubs, these idiots just provided all the ammunition the authorities needed.

Only An Idiot …


Only an idiot would contemplate putting this country through the chaos and confusion of Brexit again.

The Liberal Democrats will back Britain rejoining the European Union at an “appropriate future date” subject to public approval, the party has resolved.

A motion passed at the Lib Dems’ annual conference, with leadership backing, said the party should support a “longer-term objective” of EU membership in the future.

The EU is already trying to punish us for having the temerity to leave.

Can you imagine the gleeful wringing of hands that would precede any moves to rejoin ?

And, don’t forget the cost. Brexit has already cost billions. What will happen to any and all post Brexit trade agreements ? Especially with any countries that the EU doesn’t have a deal.

Congratulations Dan O’ Mahoney on your appointment as  “Clandestine Channel Threat Commander”. Thanks for introducing yourself. You have a tough task ahead of you. Let us hope that Home Secretary, Priti Patel, gives you the support and backing needed for you to complete the task ahead.

So “Looby”, where exactly, in mainland Europe, are the bombs these people are fleeing ?

Whilst it may not be illegal to cross the English Channel, why would anyone cross hundreds of miles of safe French countryside, only to pay huge sums of money to risk their life, and the lives of their children, by crossing the English Channel in woefully overloaded craft?

If these people had a legitimate right to enter the UK, they would use the scheduled ferries and Eurostar rail systems, to safely cross the Channel, and at a fraction of the cost. The fact that they don’t take the open, legal, safe routes implies that they are anything but legitimate.

If, as you say, anyone can apply for asylum, why haven’t these people ?

Why are they sneaking in, trying to avoid all the legitimate checks and balances ?

What are they hiding ?

This continuing lemming-like flow across the Channel makes no sense.

Linekers salary is just obscene and yet they, the BBC, need to take away the free TV license for the over 75’s

No Surprise


The UK could see a second spike in coronavirus cases if young people don’t follow social distancing rules, the health secretary says.

A third of all cases in England last week were people aged between 20 and 29.

Ever since the declaration of the pandemic. Ever since the UK government invoked the lock down. There were reports of youngsters ignoring the rules.

Angry reports, on social media, of large gatherings of youths in our local parks late into the night. And then there are the illegal raves with hundreds gathering.

Many will say there is no surprise, that this is the young doing what they always do, that we should let them get on with it, leave them alone.

But, and it’s a big but, there are the potential consequences.

Pick something up at these large gatherings and you take it home. Pass it on to your siblings, to your parents and even your grandparents.

Many people will blame the government, saying they are not doing enough. Blaming mixed messages and so on.

But one thing the government has been clear about, have constantly stated amidst all of their messages.

Maintain social distancing, maintain good hygiene practices, wear masks.

I just hope, given the rise in infections amongst the young, that they get the message. And soon.

With millions dead and millions more sick, these idiots are saying “you can’t catch what doesn’t exist”.

I can only think that they believe the pandemic to be a global conspiracy.

Anybody who enters this salon only has themselves to blame if they or their family and friends get sick.

The authorities should close them down.

£4.2m development approved – Ignores Needs Of Locals

Yet another development goes ahead, driving rough shod over the needs of, and ignoring the existing issues that plague, the local residents.

Proposals for 16 affordable homes, comprising 7 houses and 9 flats, to be built on the corner of Doyle Avenue and Nothern Parade in Hilsea.

16 homes, but with parking provision for only 12 cars. According to the councils own standards the site should provide 29 parking spaces, yet they approved this much reduced proposal.

Why ? Why have guidelines if you don’t stick to them ?

“The surrounding roads are past saturation point as confirmed by the highways engineer. Evenings and weekends are dire as people are parking illegally” So says Janet Rennell-Smith, a local resident from nearby Westwood Road.

Lib Dem Councillor Lee Hunt, not missing an opportunity for a dig at the current Conservative Government, said “The city council is under huge pressure from the Conservative government to build 12,000 new units of accomodation in or city and that’s what we’re trying to acheive”

Typical blame game from the Lib Dems, sounds like our honorable councillor is saying “It’s not our fault, we were just following orders”

Tory Councillor, Terry Norton, was at least prepared to stand up to all that “pressure” and requested that the proposal be rejected.

This is typical of the local councils, in this area, who crumble and give in to the all powerful developers rather that standing firm and considering the needs of their constituents, the folks that voted them into office in the first place.

Our councillors should be forcing developers to provide adequate parking for any new development and to ensure that any such development does not exacerbate any existing issues.

Portsmouth is an island city so is cannot expand past its coastal border. Any development that provides an increase residential units will always add to the traffic and the need for parking. Portsmouth is already blighted by a lack of available parking. Many folks cannot park outside their own homes, typically ending up several streets away. Portsmoth council has also created further parking issues after closing roads in Southsea, supposedly to protect people exercising during the pandemic lockdown.

This new development will only aggravate an already fractious situaion.
