Vaccinations minister Nadhim Zahawi says they could open 24 hours a day, if there is need
What planet is Zahawi on ?
If there is a need ? Where does the bloody “if” come from ?
Of course there is a need. Has he not seen the news. The numbers of sick and dying increasing. The NHS bordering on collapse.
Surely the default should have been a steady increase of vaccinations to match the availability. Then steadily increasing to 24/7 provision until this pandemic is quashed.
The more people vaccinated will surely help alleviate the NHS overload.
I don’t understand our governments “softly softly” approach to everything to do with this pandemic. Slow to the harsher tiers, slow to full lock down, slow to hard border controls. And why so slow to enforcement ?
We should be giving vaccinations 24/7 now !!!
What An Embarrassment
What an embarrassment Donald Trump is for the American people.
Trump loses an election, but is claiming fraudulent counts. Despite losing several legal challenges to those counts, he still refuses to accept that he lost. In the death throws of his presidency he has resorted to browbeating elected state level officials and also election staff, trying to persuade them to, fraudulently, amend legal vote counts in his favour. In other words, the wishes of the people, as declared through their votes, mean nothing to him.
Doesn’t this show how little he cares for the US people ?
Furthermore Trump then continually stirs up his supporters with these false claims and additionally inciting them to march on the Capitol, where the final steps in the process of ratifying Biden as the winner of the presidential election are underway. And march they do, subsequently breaking into the building and creating carnage and mayhem. Apart from the damage to the building, five people died and many more were injured.
Further evidence of lack of respect for the due process of democracy.
Trump has to accept responsibility for the actions of the rioters, his “heroes”, his clockwork soldiers.
As the tide of public opinion turned against the rioters, and Trumps part in this disgraceful event, even his own supporters are distancing themselves from him. Even his own VP Mike Pence refused to obey him and supported the ratification of Biden !!
And as usual, seeing the way public opinion is swinging against him, Trump has turned about face and attacked those same folks he encouraged, just a few hours earlier. Those same folks that have been added to the FBI’s Most Wanted list. Added for rioting, carrying unlicensed weapons and damaging public properties and buildings in the Capitol. The FBI are also hunting for whoever placed two explosive devices, pipe bombs, at two locations around the Capitol.
“He is the ‘most incompetent president’ in US history” So says Joe Biden.
I couldn’t agree more. What I can’t understand is the reluctance to invoke the 25th Amendment. Or why Trump hasn’t been impeached. There must be overwhelming evidence to support either action.
I understand that time, until the Biden inauguration, is short. But there is still time for a Trump tantrum. Still time for some last Trump actions to cause further embarrassment for the USA.
And, does he still have the launch codes ?
The Lowest of the Low
A Fraudster has injected a 92-year-old woman with an unknown substance claiming it to be a coronavirus vaccine.
He then charged her £160 telling her she could claim it back.
This scum is the lowest of the low and this was assault, pure and simple.
Preying on the old and vulnerable members of our society. Especially when peoples fears are at their highest given the current death and virus transmission rates.
Knowing there are people like this out there will do little for peoples confidence. A sick individual, product of a sick society.
Should he be caught I think he should be injected with Covid-19 to give him a taste of the fear many of us are feeling at the moment. Let him take his chances, with no offer of the vaccine.
There’s Always Time For Humour
Frustration
Today my wife received a text from our local GP Surgery, inviting her to make an appointment to have the Covid-19 vaccine.
Within 10 minutes, of receiving the text, we had contacted the surgery only to be told that they were not making anymore vaccination appointments.
Apparently there are vaccine supply issues !!!
This is not an auspicious start to the roll out of the vaccine.
Given the accelerated spread of Covid-19 these are scary times. So to be offered the vaccine, then to have it snatched away, is very frustrating.
Shame For The USA
I feel for the US people today.
Unbelievable and disgraceful scenes in Washington have been caused by Trumps earlier incitement. He now has to accept responsibility for what has occurred in the Capitol.
The critics and enemies of the west, in general, and the USA specifically, will be leaping for joy. They surely cannot believe their luck as they watch the symbolic pinnacle of democracy in a state of chaos. Trump and his supporters have achieved what the haters and dissenters have not.
Biden was spot on when he called for order, accusing the rioting Trump supporters of “insurrection “. He also, quite rightly, called on Trump to tell his people to back down.
Unfortunately Trump, instead of going on TV, has issued twitter call for his people to “go home”. This was insipid at best.
Of huge concern now must be how Biden can possibly heal the broken United States of America.
