View From The Conservatory

Well, thank you Monty Python.

Today, we have the guys taking down a dead tree, which is threatening to fall in mine and my neighbours backyard.

The tree doesn’t belong to us but we couldn’t cope with the bureaucracy of dealing with the Highways Agency, who moved their boundaries, and the local council, who have not “adopted” the remaining, abandoned, strip of land.

So, we have taken matters into our own hands.

The tree is a goner.

Sickening Act Of Vandalism

I can not even begin to imagine what thought processes were in play when cutting down this beautiful tree seemed like a good idea.

Det Ch Insp Rebecca Fenney-Menzies said: “The senseless destruction of what is undoubtedly a world-renowned landmark – and a local treasure – has quite rightly resulted in an outpouring of shock, horror and anger throughout the North East and further afield.

So far, a sixteen year old youth and a sixty year old man have been arrested.

I’ll leave the final words on this senseless act to Paul Tavernor Art ….

Christmas Reflections

Following much nagging and abuse, I finally capitulated and put up the tree. I have even turned on the lights outside the house.

This must be the earliest preparation, for me, ever and the first time we have placed the tree in the conservatory. And, I have to say, I like the effect with all the reflections.

Topping Off

Getting Started

Temperatures were barely making it above zero during the last couple of days. That didn’t stop these fellows lopping the tops off my neighbours trees.
