BBC News – Sue Townsend, author of Adrian Mole books, dies aged 68.
Sorry to hear that Sue Townsend has passed away. I came to her works late, introduced via the television series but I was able to empathise and the books always brought a smile . She has left an amazing legacy. My thoughts go to her family and friends.
We’ve been busy bee’s today
We’ve steam cleaned the walls in our middle bedroom ready for a lick of paint. That is tomorrows job.
Also, have steam cleaned all the glass and upvc frames of our conservatory. The conservatory is so bright now, especially after cleaning the winter detritus from the roofing panels last weekend. Gerry has been busy cleaning the inside of all the other windows in the bungalow..
We’ve been a proper pair of spring cleaners. Can you feel the glow of self satisfaction ?

The inventor of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle, Arthur Davidson, died and went to heaven.
At the gates, St. Peter told Arthur. ‘Since you’ve been such a good man and your motorcycles have changed the world, your reward is, you can hang out with anyone you want to in heaven.’Arthur thought about it for a minute and then said, ‘I want to hang out with God.’
St. Peter took Arthur to the Throne Room and introduced him to God. God recognized Arthur and commented, ‘Okay, so you were the one who invented the Harley-Davidson motorcycle? ‘
Arthur said, ‘Yeah, that’s me…’
God commented:
‘Well, what’s the big deal in inventing something that’s pretty unstable, makes noise and pollution and can’t run without a road?’
Arthur was a bit embarrassed, but finally spoke, ‘Excuse me, but aren’t you the inventor of woman?’
God said, ‘Ah, yes.’
‘Well,’ said Arthur, ‘professional to professional, you have some major design flaws in your invention !
‘Hmmmmm, you may have some good points there,’ replied God, ‘hold on.’
God went to his Celestial supercomputer, typed in a few words and waited for the results. The computer printed out a slip of paper and God read it.
‘Well, it may be true that my invention is flawed,’ God said to Arthur, ‘but according to these numbers,
…..more men are riding my invention than yours…!!!’.
I just had this link emailed to me…..Having used both Easyjet and Ryanair it struck too many chords. Although to be fair it reflects mainly Ryanair for me.

Taking Gerry to work this morning we drove along the top of Portsdown Hill. No sign of Portsmouth or the Isle of Wight.
The view from my window contains many tree silhouettes and looks very similar to a picture we used to have on the wall. The only thing missing is the dark figures on horseback, looming out of the murk, their helmets glistening and spears at the ready. It’s amazing what ones imagination can conjure up.
Or, perhaps, it’s just the anticipation building on the run up to Season 4 of Game of Thrones……. ??
Winter is Coming !!!
This has to be the stupidest device ever. The manufacturers are showing a distinct lack of moral sense and absolutely no judgement whatsoever. Just what the world needs is a mechanism to help people to get off their heads faster. This device will help them eradicate the remaining few brain cells that they had before inhaling.
Fabulous – I can see some Floyd fans absolutely hating this. But I love it. Gimme more…..
