Another fine day and the build has moved into a new phase – glass installation.
The previous photo shows the roof and northern end glazing panels installed. As the structure is still open to the elements the roof glazing is showing condensation. Hopefully we won’t see too much of that once bi-fold doors are installed and the plaster work has dried out.
Also the glass is now installed into the utility room door and window. The previous photo shows the overall shape of the conservatory and part of the finial which will finish off the roof line. Hopefully the finial will also dissuade the pigeons from landing on the apex.
The bi-fold doors aren’t being fitted yet to allow easier access while there is still some construction work ongoing, to avoid any possibility of damage to the doors. There is still a “sleeper” wall to be built to support the raised wooden flooring.
As the photo shows our garden looks like a builder’s yard. We knew that it would become a no-go area once work started but we have missed being able to sit out on the patio on the sunny days. Mind you, at the weekends, we have used the old conservatory base as a make do patio / balcony and with the new walls up it became quite the sun-trap.
The next phase of the build is to install the LivinRoom frames to support the perimeter ceilings and of course the down lighters. They need to be in place so that the electrician can come along on Thursday to carry out his first fit.
