Yes, definitely a step in the right direction. However, I believe that serious criminals should serve the whole term of their sentence.
What is the point of laying down a punishment that the criminals know is just for show, knowing full well they will not serve the full time.
Sentences should act as a deterrent. And this is definitely a step in the right direction.

I guess he will really feel the pinch, taking a £400,000 pay cut. And he will still be grabbing over a million.
And for what? Talking about football !!!
And let’s not forget about the money he gets for promoting Walkers crisps.
Should we feel sorry for him ? No way !!!
Linekers salary is just obscene and yet they, the BBC, need to take away the free TV license for the over 75’s
The BBC need a reality check.
