Trafalgar Day

“The Immortal Memory of Lord Nelson and those who fell with him”

Trafalgar Day is named after the Battle of Trafalgar, fought on October 21, 1805, which took place off Cape Trafalgar on the southwest coast of Spain.

On that day, the Royal Navy, commanded by Vice-Admiral Horatio Nelson, defeated the combined fleets of France and Spain.

Admiral Nelson was shot during the battle by a French sniper and died shortly after the battle concluded.
